Themed attractions

We design print and install printed graphics and signage for themed environments and theme park attractions in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. We have most recently worked with our clients RMA Themed Attractions at Cadbury’s World and Paulton’s Park, both based in the UK.

We understand that to be a leading printer and installer in this sector we need to offer dynamic and innovative 2D and 3D graphics solutions that attract and engage audiences. Adherence to health and safety regulations is also of huge importance, so we ensure that all materials we use have been rigorously testing and comply with all required fire regulations.

We work with our client to help create engaging themed environments using our experience of creating bespoke print installations. We are backed by a cutting edge print and finishing facility, and expertise in fabrication, manufacturing and installation from our base in Chatham,Kent.

We work best as part of a collaborative team ideally involved at the  initial concept stages of a project. We thrive on challenge, the more demanding and outlandish  the better!

As a company we are known for our innovative thinking. We have an ability to use standard tested substrates and materials and use them in a unique way to gain interesting printed effects. This knowledge and expertise has won us some Internationally recognised Print Awards, including FESPA’s coveted Gold Award in 2014.

Cadbury’s World

Working with our client RMA Themed Attractions we helped realise the vision for The Chocolate Adventure at Cadbury’s World Theme Park, Birmingham, UK.

We created graphics to cover the inside and outside walls, floors and the ceiling of the 4D cinema zone. We also needed to create artwork for a section of “”crumpled” Dairy Milk wrapper”. The final graphics needed to be hard wearing and able to withstand heavy foot fall and a range of weather conditions. The brief insisted that the graphics be durable for at least 5 years. We also needed to ensure that all materials were  fire retardant to class 0 (1 hour).

The installation took 8 weeks to complete from brief to installation. Our team spent 3 weeks on site installing the 1500 sq m of printed vinyl.

Paulton’s Park – Home of Peppa Pig World

We were asked to create cover unsightly warehouse units at Paulton’s Park, peppa Pig World in Hampshire,UK. We recommended “wrapping” the entire facade of the building in vinyl to create the impression of a street scene.

Client RMA Themed Attractions asked us to work with them creating a new £2m 4D zone in the Cadbury’s World Theme Park, in Birmingham, UK. Featuring a 4D interactive cinema experience, the Chocolate Adventure takes visitors on an adventure where they can experience the feeling of diving into a pot of melted Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, riding the Crunchie Rollercoaster and taking to the skies in a Cadbury Creme Egg airship piloted by the Caramel Bunny.

Brief

The brief from RMA was to create  long- lasting robust and fire retardant surface decorations for the exterior and interior of the new interactive 4D cinema zone. The zone is in a very high traffic area. The completed graphics needed to have a life span of 5 to 7 years.

Materials

We clad the area to be covered in 8mm marine ply and then attached 3mm DIBOND (aluminium composite material) to it. Using our HP LX 3000 we printed 1500 sq m of  Class O fire rated vinyl  to ensure the 1 hour fire rating required on the project. We suggested a floor vinyl product on the walls to increase the life of the completed installation. We finished the vinyl with an anti scratch laminate to further protect the life of the graphics.

Timescales

From receipt of the initial brief to completed installation took 8 weeks. We created the artwork for the “crumpled” wrapper section of the installation in-house. The project took 3 weeks to install on site.

Challenges

The installation is in an area of extremely heavy traffic, with both parents and children touching and interacting with the 4D Chocolate Adventure experience. Fire ratings on all materials was critical to meet Cadbury’s stringent requirements.
